LEAGUE LETTER THE LEAGUE The American Darters Association (ADA) sanctions a National network of amateur handicapped dart leagues, known as American Dart League in Weld and Larimer Counties. Team League (NEUTRALIZERsm, or OPEN): There are four to six players on a team; four, five or six players can compete weekly. Those not playing one week may play the next week. No sub’s in this league. Express League (NEUTRALIZERsm, or OPEN): There are three players on a team; any person can sub for a team in the league if they are a member or join that night. The NEUTRALIZERsm, ADA's handicap system and unique League format appeals to players of all abilities. Both have been especially designed to attract new and/or beginner players to the sport of darts. Teams have the option of participating in Soft-tip or Steel-tip dart divisions. Every host location may have two teams for each dart board/machine. Each host location should have a minimum of two teams so there will be one team at home each week, while the other is on the road. Host locations with three or more dart boards may have IN-house activity, meaning all the activity is in their establishment -- no traveling. Players must be American Darters Association members and pay an annual membership fee of $20.00. Members receive an ADA membership card, and membership decals. They are also entitled to membership discounts secured by the American Darters Association. Players pay a weekly fee to the "League Operator" for administering the NEUTRALIZERsm handicap system and maintenance of the League. Team League: $22.00/team/week for league play and $6.00 to coin the machine/team/week for NEUTRALIZERsm and $9.00 to coin the machine/team/week for Open. Express League: $18.00/team/week for league play and $4.50 to coin the machine/team/week for NEUTRALIZERsm and $6.00 to coin the machine/team/week for Open. A division consists of four to eight teams, geographically located so that travel is convenient for the players. Teams compete in three seasons (Summer, Fall and Spring) that are approximately fourteen weeks in length and two weeks of Championship play for Team League. Seven to ten weeks in length and two weeks of Championship play for Express League. Players may choose to compete in any or all the three seasons. At the conclusion of each season, a predetermined number of top finishing teams will compete for the title of Division Champion. Prize Money and Pins will be handed out at the Finals Match. This is held at the Top Seeded Team’s Location left in the Play Offs. Bar Trophy and Division Champion Pins are awarded to the Division Champions. Members are also eligible for Regional Championships and an Annual National Championship. ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
